SAMPLE SUBMISSION FORMS

How Does the Purity and Quantity Testing Work?

  • Sample Preparation: The peptide sample is dissolved in ultra pure water and prepared for analysis.
  • Column Interaction: The sample is injected into an RP-HPLC system utilizing a C18 column, specifically manufactured for peptide analysis, where it interacts with the column’s stationary phase.
  • Component Separation: Different components within the peptide mixture interact uniquely with the column, leading to separation based on their physicochemical properties.
  • Detection: As each component elutes from the column, the sample is detected at 214-220 nm where the peptide bond absorbs.
  • Quantification with External Standard: An external standard of known concentration is run through the same system. The peak area of the standard is compared to the sample peaks to quantify each peptide component, allowing for the determination of purity by correlating peak areas to known concentrations. The HPLC purity and quantity methods are validated according to USP <1225>.

How Long Does Testing Take?

Results for purity and quantity panels are available 3-5 days after samples arrive to Vanguard!

Samples can either be mailed in, with our Sample Submission Form or they can be dropped off in person from 8:30 to 5:30 Monday through Friday. No appointment necessary!

Additional Testing Available for Research Peptides?

Endotoxin Testing:

Endotoxin testing is done following USP <85> Methodology. Endotoxin is a 3-5 day turnaround time

Heavy Metals Testing:

Heavy Metals screening includes Arsenic, Cadmium, Chromium, Mercury and Lead. Vanguard uses an ICP-MS to screen for heavy metals contamination. This panel is a 3-5 day turnaround.

Sterility Testing:

Vanguard is able to do both USP <61> (Nonsterile Microbial Enumeration) as well as USP <71> (Sterility Test). For lyophilized products, we recommend the USP <71> screening. This test is a 15 day minimum turnaround time.

How Much Does the Testing Cost?

With Vanguard’s upfront pricing, there are no additional sample handling, storage or processing fees.

Purity and Quantity Panel is $250

Sterility by USP <71> Panel is $150

Bacterial Endotoxin Panel is $210

Heavy Metals Contaminant Panel (Includes As, Pb, Cd, Cr and Hg) is $150

Vanguard Laboratory accepts payment via check, ACH, all major credit cards, PayPal or Venmo. You will be invoiced for the project after the samples arrive to the laboratory.
