How it works

Each test separates the named compounds by liquid chromatography and measures them against reference standards. The quercetin and rutin limit test reports results against the limits in your specification.

Several of these compounds are glycosides of the same aglycone or isomers of each other, so each has its own test.

Tests offered

Quercetin by UPLC

Measures quercetin, a flavonol aglycone, by UPLC as a single compound.

Rutin by UPLC

Measures rutin, the 3-O-rutinoside of quercetin, by UPLC as a single compound. The USP Rutin monograph states its content on the anhydrous basis and lists rutin and quercetin reference standards.

Isoquercetin content by UPLC

Measures isoquercetin, the 3-O-glucoside of quercetin, by UPLC as a single compound.

Hyperoside content by UPLC

Measures hyperoside, the 3-O-galactoside of quercetin, by UPLC as a single compound.

Limit of quercetin and rutin by HPLC

Measures free quercetin and rutin by HPLC and compares them with the limits in your specification. It is a limit test: the result is reported against those limits.

Luteolin content by UPLC

Measures luteolin, a flavone aglycone, by UPLC as a single compound.

Apigenin content by HPLC

Measures apigenin, a flavone aglycone, by HPLC as a single compound.

Apigenin-7-O-glucoside content by HPLC

Measures apigenin-7-O-glucoside, a glycoside of apigenin, by HPLC as a single compound.

Apigenins content by HPLC

Measures apigenin and related apigenin compounds by HPLC. Tell us which apigenin compounds your specification names and whether it states each one or a total.

Vitexin content by UPLC

Measures vitexin, an 8-C-glucoside of apigenin, by UPLC as a single compound.

Isovitexin content by UPLC

Measures isovitexin, the 6-C-glucoside of apigenin and an isomer of vitexin, by UPLC as a single compound.

Orientin by UPLC

Measures orientin, an 8-C-glucoside of luteolin, by UPLC as a single compound.

Isoorientin content by UPLC

Measures isoorientin, the 6-C-glucoside of luteolin and an isomer of orientin, by UPLC as a single compound.

Vitexin-2-O-rhamnoside content by UPLC

Measures vitexin-2''-O-rhamnoside, a rhamnoside of vitexin, by UPLC as a single compound.

Vitexin, vitexin-2-O-rhamnoside and hyperoside content by HPLC

Measures vitexin, vitexin-2''-O-rhamnoside and hyperoside together by HPLC, each reported against your specification.

Fisetin by UPLC

Measures fisetin, a flavonol aglycone, by UPLC as a single compound.

Taxifolin content by UPLC

Measures taxifolin (dihydroquercetin), a flavanonol, by UPLC as a single compound.
