Private Well Water Screening

The EPA does not regulate private wells nor does it provide standards for individual wells, it is the well owners responsibility to maintain the safety of their well. The EPA does recommend that all wells be screened at least once a year for total coliform and nitrates.  Vanguard Laboratory can help with that, and offers the below panel for private drinking water wells.

Vanguard Laboratory recommends screening for coliform bacteria, nitrates, Hardness, pH and heavy metals.

Special Situation? Testing more than once a year may be warranted if you are experiencing any of these additional conditions.

Screening for Disinfectants

Many water suppliers add a disinfectant to drinking water to kill germs such as giardia and e coli. Especially after heavy rainstorms, your water system may add more disinfectant to guarantee that these germs are killed. Screen for these disinfectants to ensure levels are below potable limits.

Public Water Systems Screening Bundle

Screen your water sample for the EPA’s Standard monitoring Framework. The SMF was created to increase public health protection by simplifying monitoring plans and synchronizing monitoring schedules. It summarizes  the federal drinking water requirements and ongoing monitoring frequencies for existing systems. Contact us if you are interested in scheduling SMF screening for all of the after mentioned contaminants.
