AOAC International is an independent, third party, not-for-profit association & voluntary consensus organization that develops & validates standards, methods and technologies of global use.
AOAC was established in 1884 as the Association of Official Agricultural Chemists. Later, the abbreviated named AOAC International was adopted to reflect the global nature of the organization. As of 2019 the “AOAC” stands for “Association of Official Analytical Collaboration International”.
AOAC INTERNATIONAL brings together government, industry, and academia to establish standard methods of analysis that ensure the safety and integrity of foods and other products that impact public health around the world.
